LPN to RN
WHAT: An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) for licensed practical nurses who meet specific criteria. Courses are offered online; clinicals are held in or near Watertown, SD. The degree is awarded by The University of South Dakota.

RECOGNITION/ACCREDITATION: The Department of Nursing has been awarded continuing accreditation by the
National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and is approved by the
South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Since 2004, The University of South Dakota (USD) Department of Nursing has been designated by the
National League for Nursing as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education.
COST ESTIMATES: Tuition and fees are approved by the South Dakota Board of Regents effective each May.

SCHOLARSHIP/LOANS: Employees are encouraged to visit with their center administrator about financial
assistance that may be available through local resources or the Hoeger Scholarship and Loan
Program. Some states may offer scholarship/grant or loan assistance through the state Board of Nursing
